ABOUT PRESONUS BLOG
I’m Rick Naqvi, and I'm the owner/engineer of Black Dog Recording Studio in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and play guitar in the funk band Phat Hat. I have been working for PreSonus for the past 14 years and am currently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. I enjoy working with people that are passionate about music and audio. PreSonus Customer Support Manager Alex Faucheux is a graduate of Full Sail University and is a veteran Foley artist, creating sound effects for films. A member of the all-PreSonus employee band Fat Rocker, he plays bass, guitar, and harmonica.
Jonathan Hillman, Studio One Software Project Manager is a six year PreSonus veteran with a degree in music from LSU. A gigging musician when not immersed in the digital world, Jonathan is also a composer and arranger for the Baton Rouge Symphony.
An established guitarist, vocalist, engineer, and producer, PreSonus Product Specialist and Customer Support representative Justin Spence graduated from the SAE Institute of Technology, then worked as an instructor and supervisor at the New York and Nashville campuses of the school before joining PreSonus. In addition to his work with PreSonus, he owns and operates the All Audio mobile recording service in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and engineers projects at Alliance Recording Studios in Miami, Florida.

no...
not yet but we are working on them as we speak. We will update all of our interfaces to 64bit as soon as we are assured of the stability. Right now, it rocks on 32bit.
Are there any plans to allow use of 12 seperate aux sends when connecting two boards?

I have to ask the question. You said you were using a 14U MGR for your rack and that you would show us a picture racked up.
So in this 14U rack.....What do you have in it? or rather what would you want in it? driverack, additional EQ with feedback eliminator, More effects..in otherwords for just the basics gigging and recording what's your dream rig with Studio Live?

Actually, daisy chaining two consoles will double the number of subgroups to eight and effects units to four, however the number of auxes will stay the same. This is due to the fact that you need access to all 32 streams in order to do an aux mix just in case people need a mix of every input.
We shipped a few demo units out to our European distributors however the majority of them should be shipping within the next 30 to 60 days. We'll have seven of them at the Musik Messe show in Frankfurt on April 1.

We're testing the SKB Gig Safe in a few days. I'll post some pics of that on our forum soon.
Rick, I am not a "firmware man".... but for the 12 auxes future, I will send only the 6 aux sum mix to the other console.... let's say console 1 has "real" (analog out) auxes 1 to 6, and console 2 has "real" auxes 7 to 12. Console 1 will send 6 aux mixes (7 to 12) to console 2 (only 6 stream) to join the relative aux mixes on that console. And the console 2 will also send 6 aux mixes (1 to 6) to console 1 in the same way. Much like the pseudo 8 bus I suggested in the past. This will give you only 12 streams instead of 32. Isn't it cool?
Isn't it obvious? Internal FX need some attention as well... the current FX independancy feels like a compromise too.
Could there be a way by menue settings to sacrifice the extra groups for extra auxes?

Also regarding the aux mixes: the online manual suggests that you've got a choice between post-EQ/post-fader and pre-EQ/pre-fader mixes. Shouldn't that be post-EQ/pre-fader to allow monitor mixes from 'cleaned up' input channels?

Rick, is the internal supply international? Can I travel with the mixer around the world and use it?
More videos please. I really like seeing the recording and mix processes and working with live performers. Demos of the effects and other features are cool too. RL
There are two modes for running your monitors. The first is called 'Pre1' and it allows the EQ and Dynamics of the Fat Channel to only affect the FOH mix, not the monitors. This is great if you want to avoid feedback in the monitors when vocals need to be compressed heavily outfront. However, if you are using in-ears, or you just want the complete Fat Channel for your monitors, you can select 'Pre2' in the System Menu. This will allow your entire FOH Fat Channel to be copied to all of the monitor mixes.
I'll be posting 2 new blogs within the next week or so. One will be showing the StudioLive in a 'studio' recording session. The other will be showing the StudioLive being used as a monitor mixer.

I am considering buying 2 SL's for our church (right now we are running a Yamaha MG32). The question I have is if the firmware upgrade for the daisy chaining is available yet, and if not when it will be available? By the way this board looks to be awesome. I really like the fact that you, (Presonus) are implementing many of the features that customers are suggesting. Keep up the good work.

Rick I just bought a studio live.. I used it live last night, i couldn't seem to make the reverb work>>>can you help me? Is it possible the reverb is just not working?
